NYX birthday haul!

Yes I know this is a bit late considering my birthday was March 5th.

Here are a few things that I received from my mum on my birthday!

First thing I got is the NYX round lipstick in pumpkin pie. This colour is such a perfect peachy nude that would suit every skin colour. This lipstick was somewhere from AUD $8.95-12.95 (I can't remember the actual price) which is expensive to me considering I can get them online for $3.

It's that 'my lips but better colour' it suits my lips really well I think. This lipstick is very creamy and the pigmentation is amazing. Although, the lasting power is not very good. But I do not mind reapplying every now and then.

Next I got a blush in peach (even though it looks bright pink to me)

Me, not knowing how extremely pigmented this blush was decided to get a whole lot on my brush and apply it straight to my face. Bad idea! It's such a lovely pink blush which I am in desperate need off since I don't own very nice pink blushes.

Here is just one quick swipe of the blush to show you the colour.

And here it is blended in, it also has a lovely sheen to it!

Mum also purchased one of the Love in Paris palettes in Madeleines and Macaroons.

I'm so happy she chose this palette for me because it has come in handy so much since it is a everyday palette. The colours in this are so useful and gorgeous.

The eyeshadow are a mixture of shimmers and mattes. I love how there are some light browns, golds, a black and then some pink/peach shades to mix things up.

The swatches that I will be adding below are only one swipe.

Top 3

The first colour which is a white is the perfect matte highlight colour. The brown is good for the crease, to add some definition. This colour is matte. And the gold is also good for a highlight and perfect on the lid. This colour is shimmer. These three colours could make a whole eye look.

Middle 3

The first colour here is a black, you can use this as an eyeliner if you are wanting a more softer look. This colour is matte. The middle colour is hard to explain, looking at it, it looks green. It's a goldy green colour and is the perfect colour for a highlight if you into more of an extreme highlight. This colour is shimmer.  The last colour is a light brown again, although this has a sheen to it. Perfect for the crease.

Last 3

These colours are all matte. They are the girly colours of this palette. The first is a peach which can be used for all over the lid and even in the crease. The middle is a brick kind of colour, and the last is a soft baby pink which can add a pop of colour under the waterline or for something different, a highlight.

Lastly, I have been wanting the milk eye shadow stick forever. But everytime I go they are always sold out. But to my surprise. I open my present to find this lovely thing!

Which is absolutely amazing considering they are usually around AUD $10 each, my mum got this pack for $30 (amazing)

The pack contains 6 colours that are soooo useful. Usually when you see a pack like this, they add bad colours. But I have used all the colours in this pack.

(Left to right)

The first colour is Eletric blue which is the perfect name for this. It's a bright blue with a little bit of a shimmer to it. Next is Yogourt which is a pinky champagne colour, so pretty. Next is Iced Mocha and is a darker chocolate brown. Fourth is Sparkle Nude, is a shimmery nude. Next is Milk, a plain white. The perfect base for bright colours. And the last is Black Bean which is a pure black.

And that's it for this post. I'm inloooove with my NYX goodies and so glad you can purchase them in Target in Australia now. Best thing to come to Australia defiantly.

Face of the day - 19th January

For foundation, I used Rimmel's Match Perfection in 200 Soft Beige. Sooo happy with this foundation. Medium but build-able coverage. This shade is so perfect for me too! I wanted this foundation after seeing Tanya Burr rave about it, and there is a story behind the purchase of this foundation! It was around $20 at Priceline and I was just about to purchase it, instead I went to Coles to see how much it would be there and it was around the same price. Luckly, my mum told me to have a look on the clearance table because she saw some makeup there, and there it was! The foundation for only $5! I was going to buy it regardless if it was my shade or not and oh my god... It's perfect for me! What a steal!

Concleaer I used is Mac's Pro Longwear in NW20. I just used this under my eyes and to cover the redness around my nose. Get concealer and defiantly worth the money!

For brows, I've just recently purchased the Elf Brow Kit in Dark. I usually have trouble finding a good colour for my brows since they are close to black and this kit is perfect for mine! I brought this after seeing it in every single one of Shannon Harris' videos. So pleased.

Contour and bronze I used Laguna by Nars. Again, soooooo happy with this, defiantly worth the money and I will 100% repurchase when I touch pan. I brought this after seeing Lauren Curtis using this for her contour. Just the right amount of matte and shimmer. Perfect for a bronze glow and contour.

Blush, I used Nars Orgasm. I honestly love this blush so much but I do think there are some really good dupes out there. But I would repurchase. Such a beautiful texture all Nars products are and honestly glide on like fairy dust! The gold in this blush gives the most gorgeous highlight on my cheeks.

For mascara, I just purchased Maybelline's Colossal Volum Express, it was on sale for $10 at Coles. I wouldn't really agree with the statement that it says it will give you a cat eyed look with the mascara longing longer at the end. But it does give an all round fullness and length.

Lastly, lipstick I'm wearing today is Mac's Creme Cup, although it does look a little more pink in this picture. It is just a perfect everyday colour!

Let me know if you would like to see a separate review on each of these products x

BeautyBay Blending Sponge - First Impression & Review

I ordered this online on the 21st of December and only got it today (16th of January). I purchased this for $11 AUD on http://www.beautybay.com/

First of all, I would just like to quickly say that I'm really disappointed with this order from BeautyBay. It took so long to arrive which is weird since I usually get my packages within 10 days. The packaging was horrible. It was in a small cardboard box that was taped a few times and the box was all damaged and squashed.

Now onto the actual sponge!

I purchased this mainly because I want the actual BeautyBlender but this one is a third of the price. So I thought I would give it a try.

My first impression when I opened up the package was that it was really small. Just quick, I do not own the beautyblender so I have nothing to compare it to. But when I took it out of the packaging, it was really hard and tough. Which is not what I expected.

I've put a Mac lipstick next to the blender just to show the size of the blending sponge.

I followed the directions given which told me to wet the sponge and squeeze out the access water. This made the sponge a little softer but when I applied my foundation, all my foundation pretty much sucked itself into the sponge. I needed two full pumps when I usually need only one.

It did blend in my foundation and concleaer flawlessly, other then the fact the foundation had gotten sucked into the sponge, which made me loose half of my foundation!

When I squeezed the sponge, you could see all the foundation that was sucked inside. It took me much longer to apply my everyday foundation/concealer but that was probably because it was something new to me and different.

I used the tip of the sponge to blend in my concleaer. It worked well for both foundation and concealer and I would love to practice more and find the best way to use it

Unfortunately, I just realized that after my first use only, the bottom of the sponge started to tear a little bit. Which is very odd!

I wasn't really impressed with this sponge  and it let me down quite a bit. Again, I have nothing to compare it too so I will have to get back to you all on that one.

Although, I will keep using it until I cannot anymore and test out the best ways for myself to apply foundation with it.

I would love to buy the actual original BeautyBlender and compare the too. When I do, I will make a post!

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipsticks - Review

Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipsticks

Before I start this review, I would just like to point out that the Australis brand is Australian owned. It does not ship anywhere else other than Australia.

I am really impressed with these lipsticks, they are very creamy and highly pigmented. They have a beautiful colour range that suits everybody. They have around 20 different colours listed on their website.

Electro, Jive, Honky Tonk, Salsa, Lick The Icing

I buy all my lipsticks from Priceline. They are usually $12.95 AUD. But Australis/Priceline usually have sales so you can get them for cheaper.

The colours I brought are Jive, Lick The Icing, Honky Tonk, Salsa and Electro.

This colour is Jive, its a dull purple colour. I purchased this lipstick online and I honestly wasn't sure of the colour. I didn't think I would like it, but the colour is now in my top 5 favourites. It's a beautiful wearable nudey purple and I personally think it looks lovely on people with more olive/darker skin tones. This colour also reminds me of Mac's Creme cup when swatched. It would be a good cheap dupe.

This colour is Salsa, it's a really cute pink. I also ordered this lipstick online. This colour hasn't really impressed me. I do love this colour though, but I own something similar. The colour is nicer in the tube than on the lips. I think if I had a choice, I wouldn't of purchased this colour. Although, this is a gorgeous colour and I think it would suit a large range of skin colours!

This colour is Electro. It's a really bright and bold orange colour. Although in the photo it looks flouro pink! I also purchased this colour online. I was really excited for this colour since I don't own many oranges. When I first got it, I swatched it on my hand and it wasn't really pigmented and a bit dull. But the second time I swatched it, it was so pigmented it was weird! I really do enjoy this colour, I think it's so beautiful! The perfect orange.

This colour is Lick The Icing, it's a really bright lilac. When I first saw this colour in Priceline. I didn't really like it. It was such a weird and usual colour and it really isn't my type. My mum loved it though! This was kind of impulse buy, as I needed to buy one lipstick and get one for free, so I thought I'd give it a try and if I didn't like it I'd give it to mum. This colour has grown on me a lot though and I really like it now. I don't think it's an everyday colour but I'm sure people can pull it off!

The best for last! This is Honky Tonk. This is the most perfect everyday colour! It's a peachy/coral/nude and it's just beautiful! This is the lipstick I brought full price to get Lick The Icing (above) for free. I'm so happy with this purchase. It's my staple everyday lip colour now, especially that is it summer! I just love this colour and I would recommend it to anyone as it looks gorgeous on any skin tone and anyone can pull it off.

I would highly recommend these lipsticks for anyone who lives in Australia. Like I said, all colours and highly pigmented and so creamy. They just glide on and do not drag your lip when applying, nor do they dry out your lips. Extremely highdrating also. These lipsticks are a good price and can be found in Kmart, Priceline and more big shops.

I only have one problem with these lipsticks, it's not about the actual lipsticks, but while in store and online, I have noticed that the colour at the bottom of the tube or the little box next to the name online, is completely different to the true colours. All mine are fine but just some of them are completely different and it's very strange.

All up, great lipsticks with a great colour range. Hope to see new and different colours out in the new year. Also some creamy lip liners to match the lipsticks would be amazing!
